Mr. Kolb is a partner in the Litigation Department and a senior member of the Healthcare Law Group.  He has been an active trial lawyer for over thirty years, primarily defending physicians and healthcare institutions in medical malpractice litigation.

In addition to litigation matters, Mr. Kolb is a frequent lecturer to professional groups and area hospitals offering presentations to medical staff, residents and nursing personnel, as well as providing regular consultation to hospital administration and management regarding affiliation agreements, physician staffing and credentialing, residency training programs, peer review issues and general risk management. 

Mr. Kolb has been an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) and has participated as a faculty member in numerous CLE programs teaching trial advocacy skills.  He is also a member of various professional organizations working to promote the defense perspective and the interests of healthcare providers including the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, the Medical-Legal Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute and committees of the Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.  In 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, Mr. Kolb was selected in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine.  Mr. Kolb has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.  

Mr. Kolb received his B.A. in 1969 from Dickinson College and his J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1974.  He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, handling both trial and appellate matters for healthcare providers, self-insured entities and professional liability insurance carriers.
